Surgical Orthopaedic Treatments
If surgery is indicated, Dr Amarasooriya will perform the most appropriate and timely procedure for your condition. The indications, potential outcomes, and expected recovery will be discussed in detail prior to surgery.
Non-Surgical Orthopaedic Treatments
If non-surgical management is appropriate, Dr Amarasooriya will organise personalised treatment plans. These may include pain management methods, suitable splints, casts, or braces, injection therapies, and functional exercise rehabilitation programmes.
Splints, Bracing, and Casts
Various types of immobilisation and functional orthoses are commonly used for hand, wrist, and elbow conditions and injuries. Dr Amarasooriya will coordinate the most suitable option through a dedicated team of Hand Therapists and Occupational Therapists. Options of custom-made thermoplastic splints/casts or Plaster of Paris (POP) casts are available.
Injection Treatments
Injection therapies are minimally invasive, non-surgical treatment modality for many hand and upper limb conditions.Available injections include:
- Corticosteroids (anti-inflammatory)
- Platelet-Rich Plasma - PRP (Regenerative Orthobiologic treatment)
- Injections are generally performed under ultrasound guidance to ensure accuracy and safety, and are offered as outpatient procedures in the clinic.
Sports Injury Management
Acute and chronic sports-related injuries are common among athletes and physically active individuals. Dr Amarasooriya provides expert assessment and personalised treatment for sports-related injuries, caring for professional athletes as well as patients of all ages and activity levels.
Fracture and Trauma Care
Dr Amarasooriya is available after hours to provide urgent care for fracture management and trauma-related orthopaedic procedures. To enhance accessibility and patient convenience, video consultations are also offered where appropriate.
